(Scroll down to find out how to join!)
GMChorale is comprised of a diverse group of individuals of all ages and walks of life who are united in their love of music and a desire to create community. We perform two mainstage concerts each season, as well as sing for the annual Festival of Carols at First Congregational Church of Cheshire.
With a wide-ranging classical repertoire, we perform many of the great choral masterworks with orchestra, music of various styles, periods, and genres, and contemporary music recently commissioned and composed.
We are always looking for new members to join our welcoming community. If you are looking for a weekly evening “out,” we encourage you to inquire about joining us on Tuesdays for rehearsals!
At GMChorale will you find:
A group that sings interesting and often underproduced established choral masterworks and new music.
A singer-focused group helping our members become better musicians through performance and education.
A community-based performing arts organization with multiple choral, instrumental, and educational offerings that aims to enrich the individual and the community.
Please fill out the form below with your contact information, and we will reach out to you with more details about joining.
“It’s the best night of the week. Joy, challenge, growth, passion, fun, camaraderie, music! I am inspired and grateful at every rehearsal and so glad to be giving myself this gift!”
Please refer to our COVID-19 page to read what is required of singers for the 2022-2023 season. Thank you for your understanding.
GMChorale meets Tuesday evenings from September to November and February to May at Bethany Lutheran Church at 50 Court Street in Cromwell, CT. We look forward to welcoming you to our family!
How to Join
All those interested in singing with GMChorale for the first time should submit a short 1 to 2 minute video of themselves singing. The video should include:
1. Your name and brief introduction
2. Your singing background (e.g. did you sing in your college choir)
3. Your voice part if you know it
4. You singing the first verse of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee", preferably in a key that shows off your voice.
Don't worry about being too fancy. Keep it simple. All you need is a cell phone and a clear video. Submit your video to new member coordinator, Margie Livengood, at email@example.com. We will contact you about setting up an audition in person.
Nervous about making a video? If you do not feel comfortable you are not required to make one! We still encourage you to join by filling out the form below by "clicking to join".
We look forward to receiving your submission!
